Introduction
Figure culture is one of the important components of campus history and culture. Figure statues in particular are an important carrier that present the school’s history and culture. Sculptures, especially figure sculptures, are the most popular artworks that can show a society’s cultural atmosphere.
As the pioneer of higher agricultural education in modern China, Nanjing Agricultural University over the past a hundred years has nurtured a large number of national talents and produced generations of outstanding figures. Statues of several sages have been successfully erected on campus to commemorate them.
As of March 2022, there are 17 statues of historical figures on the campus, which is indicated in the following figure (Note: The statue of Prof. Wu Xianggan is located in the exhibition of the College of Engineering of Pukou Campus).
