On December 15, sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), the conference for issuance of the Chinese higher education internationalization development condition investigation report and the quality certification work conference for education of international students in China were held in Beijing at the Home to the Chinese Workers. Liu Zhimin, Dean of the College of International Education from our university, attended the signing ceremony of the third batch of institutions for the quality certification of education of international students in China, accompanied by Cheng Weihua, Director of the international students.
The China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) is a non-profit organization approved by the State Council and jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. In 2015, the Association, according to the Ministry of Education work points of “initiation of quality certification system for educational of international students in China”, officially launched in January of 2016 the first evaluation of the quality certification at pilot institutions, which, will experience several phases as of applying, initial visit, self-assessment, self-assessment review, field investigation. Taking the peer review and the self-assessment as the primary evaluation methods, the aim of the process is at developing characteristics, self improvement and promotion. The results of the pilot certification are published as the official certification results, and will serve as an important reference for the decision-making and policy-making of educational administration.
The first batch pilot institutions for the quality certification included 28 universities as of Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and others that have made outstanding achievements in education of international students in China and have played important roles in education sponsored by the Chinese government scholarship programs. 35 universities as the second batch included Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Soochow University for quality certification and all have passed. 35 institutions including Tongji university, Yangzhou University, Nanjing Agricultural University will be the third batch applying for the quality certification of education of international students in China. The College of International Education at our university will take the quality certification as an opportunity to seriously sum up the experiences of our own, to seek advices from the experts of guidance, we will make a better work for education of international students as of greater contribution to the development of internationalization of education of our university.
