WHY NAU?

NAU is among the top tier agricultural universities globally, the resources, dedication and hard-work it has shown is in itself an incentive for the overseas students.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A STUDENT AT NAU?

I do like the fact that the school (NAU) is committed to a programme of promoting leading-edge academics, cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and emerging as a regional hub for international academic exchange and cooperation. The school contains state of the art learning resources and facilities and further provides the exquisite learning environment.

WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

Learning has ups and downs always and mine ain’t no different. The pressure the programme comes with, the urge to achieve the best and the required effort to achieve these set targets are the challenges I could mention. At the end of the day, the challenges fall within my jurisdiction for exploration.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

Education is an influential step in staying competitive and enhancing skills. On top of that, I will gain practical skills and knowledge necessary for workplace application. Also, because of the enhanced soft skills, (strong abilities in communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving) I will add value to any organization as well as take the next step towards my career goals. The degree programme I’m enrolled in also is equipping me with strong confidence for success. Greater confidence leads to greater career advancements. Consequently, the programme will help me grow my social network - a wealth of insight and information as I advance in my career. Lastly, to grow in my career, I got to put in the work to deepen my knowledge, gain skills, and develop a network that will assist me in taking the next step towards where I want to be.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT NAU?

1. Set high personal and academic standards for yourself and live up to them - believe in yourself, strive for the best and if you fall short, land on better.

2. Break the large tasks down into manageable subtasks - tackle the small pieces of the large tasks each day for efficiency.

3. Honesty is the best policy - strive to be honest and avoid academic dishonesty.

4. Don’t ignore or deny your academic challenges - indirect address to your problems only make them worse.

5. Don’t over-commit yourself - just apportion the work you can achieve and the rest will fall in place, give yourself a room for rest and enjoyment.

6. Take responsibility for yourself - failure to recognize your responsibilities can be harmful for your NAU life.

7. NAU is the best academic institution to be at, much better modern facilities, great teaching and research staffs, very supportive administrative personnel, and generally a better environment for academic excellence.
