From March 12 to 22, Vice President Hu Feng headed a delegation and participated in an exhibition of Chinese higher education organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education in the UK, Ireland and Norway. Dean Zhimin Liu of the College of International Education and others accompanied the delegation.
In Norway, our university delegation participated in the Norway 7th International Conference on Education. Dialog and interaction were held with other participants on topics of “higher education internationalization and quality guarantee”, “how to improve the student mobility between the two countries: countermeasures, opportunities and success experience”. In the United Kingdom, the delegation participated in the “Study abroad in China” of higher education exhibition in London and Manchester, introducing current situation to local colleges and interested British university students for study in China as of the development of China's higher education, and our university achievements in internationalization as well as recruiting international students policy and other relevant information. In Ireland, the delegation participated in the “China and Ireland High Education Forum”, listened to reports by Chinese and Irish experts and scholars on internationalization of higher education and scientific research achievements of the latest results, and attended sessions of exchanges with Irish well-known colleges and universities. During the trip, the delegation also visited the University of Oslo in Norway, the Norway's Higher Education International Exchange Center, the University of Manchester, the University of Dublin in Ireland and other institutions. Discussion and workshop were held on common topics of exchange and cooperation of higher education.
From the field trip and exchange in depth, our university discussed the possibility of cooperation in scientific research, teacher exchanges, student exchanges and so on with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, the University of Manchester in Britain, the University of Dublin in Ireland.
It is reported that, in addition to our university, Peking University, Tongji University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University and so on 32 famous universities have also participated in this higher education overseas exhibition. Through the “Study abroad in China” higher education exhibition in Europe and other countries, it has promoted the exchange and interaction between Chinese and foreign higher education, and promoted the international influence of China's education.
